Taproot Featured on Green Home Tour
Our clients have graciously opened their "Muiny Bay Modern" home for this year's green home tour. The tour, hosted by the Whidbey Watershed Stewards promotes awareness of green living and ecological design. If you are able to attend on March 31st, you're in for a treat. This home features a super efficient envelope, wood fired boiler system, solar thermal panels, living roofs, high efficiency glazing, thoughtful minimalism and a host of artistic touches. |

Taproot Goes Solar
This fall we transformed our south roof into a solar dynamo. Our new photovoltaic array provides up to 2.3 Kilowatts of electricity or about 40-50% of our annual energy use. It features some remarkable breakthroughs in technology - including live tracking and statistics on the web. |

Earth Sanctuary Stupa
How do you build a stupa?! The sacred geometry of this Tibetan Buddhist monument is encoded with instructions on the Buddha's path to enlightenment. Design and construction of this Victory Stupa - one of the few in North America - has certainly been an enriching experience. |

Mutiny Bay House Completed
With three generations of stewardship, several years of planning and two years of construction, the house on Mutiny Bay is finally complete. It's a sculptural testament to modernism - made up of strong features composed with restraint. The house is both light and grounded, simple yet artistic. |
